  • Helen Simmons

    Helen is a BIFA longlisted producer, writer, and Screen Star of Tomorrow. She began her career running the Cambridge student film festival, Watersprite, before making short films with directors such as Kate Herron and Chloe Wicks. In 2020, the Film and TV production company she runs alongside Stephanie Aspin, Erebus Pictures, received a BFI Vision Award. Since then the company has produced three features: KLOKKENLUIDER, directed by Neil Maksell, and starring Tom Burke, Jenna Coleman and Amit Shah; HOARD, directed by Luna Carmoon, which had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival this year, starring Joseph Quinn and Hayley Squires; and BONUS TRACK, directed by Julia Jackman, and starring Susan Wokoma, Josh O'Connor and Jack Davenport.

    As a writer, Helen has worked with companies including Audible, Sky, Netflix and NBCUniversal, and has been part of schemes including iFeatures, 4Screenwriting and BBC Writersroom. She recently co-wrote her first feature, LAST SWIM, directed by Sasha Nathwani which won the Crystal Bear at Berlinale 2024. Helen recently wrote on the new Sky animated show READY EDDIE GO narrated by Jodie Whittaker, and has projects in development with companies including World Productions, The Development Partnership, Anton, Ardimages UK, Kinetic Content, Quay Street Productions and Moonriver Content.

  • Anna Keeley

    Anna is a Production and Development Executive for Producer Oliver Kassman at Escape Plan Productions (SAINT MAUD, OUT OF DARKNESS). She was recently Production Exec on Rose Glass’ second feature, LOVE LIES BLEEDING (A24/Film4), starring Kristen Stewart, Ed Harris and Katy O’Brian, which premieres at Sundance 2024. She was Producer of Watersprite in 2019-2020 and previously worked in Mexico City at production company Agencia Bengala, whose credits include 2020 Mexican entry to the Oscars, I’M NO LONGER HERE (2020) and Ariel-winning feminist western NORTHERN SKIES OVER EMPTY SPACE (2022).

  • Chiara Di Filippo

    Chiara is an Argentinian filmmaker and writer currently based in the UK. While completing her degree in Sociology at the University of Cambridge, she volunteered at Watersprite Film Festival first as Awards Officer (2020 - 2021) and later as Head of Awards (2021 - 2022). She is currently working as event manager and centre administrator for the Royal Television Society East and production assistant for Particle6 Productions, while developing film projects on the side.

  • Charlotte Matheson

    Charlotte is an emerging filmmaker and producer, with a background in cinema events and awards.

    In 2022, she was the Festival Director of Watersprite, having spent the previous year working for the internationally-recognised Young Director Award in Paris as Project Manager. In 2024, she became the youngest ever member of the Young Director Award jury.

    Charlotte now produces the world’s leading podcast for women in film, Girls On Film, and is an assistant producer on Mark Kermode Live in 3D at the BFI. She is also part of the Critical PR team, representing independent cinema in the UK and at international film festivals.

    In her spare time, Charlotte moderates at film events, recently hosting the opening night screening of Rose Glass’ Love Lies Bleeding, the London Premiere of Carol Morley’s Typist Artist Pirate King, and Motel’s screening of The Virgin Suicides in collaboration with Mind.

    She is currently writing her debut feature.

  • Isobel Leigh

    Isobel Leigh is COO and Managing Director at Malao GmbH, a tech-driven movie development studio based between Germany and Australia bringing Meaningful Entertainment to global audiences for commercial success and positive social impact. Isobel directed Watersprite in 2020, after being Head of Events for the 2018 edition. Her previous work ranges from marketing at Sony Music Entertainment to guest management at Munich Film Festival, as well as experience in China, Spain and Peru. Isobel has a BA and MA in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge.

  • Hannah Collins

    Hannah is a Script Editor at Quay Street Productions (FOOL ME ONCE, AFTER THE FLOOD, NOLLY). She was recently Script Editor on the Amazon UK comedy thriller series DEAD HOT - and is currently working on a variety of series in development.

    While at university, Hannah founded Cambridge Creatives and has been involved in a wide range of theatre and short film productions since. Hannah was previously part of the Events team at Watersprite 2021 and was then the Gala Officer at Watersprite 2022, overseeing the Opening and Closing ceremonies. She is thrilled to join the steering committee and to continue to support the festival in any way she can.
