Hubs 2024

On March 1st 2024 we hosted around 100 emerging filmmakers from across the UK in the first ever version of Watersprite Hubs. The filmmakers made the journey to us on Friday 1st March and enjoyed curated workshops such as pitching, camera demonstrations and editing; as well as intimate talks and Q&A’s with professional filmmakers, across 6 strands of filmmaking:

  • Producing

  • Writing

  • Editing

  • Cinematography

  • Production Design

  • Documentary Filmmaking

apply?

We are committed to finding the most exciting emerging filmmakers from across the UK to be a part of our first cohort of Watersprite Hubs! In order to be eligible to apply you must:

  • Be aged between 18 - 30

  • Be based within the UK

We realise that the rigidity of age limitations can be restricting to those who are in most need of training opportunities. Therefore, you will also be eligible to apply for Watersprite Hubs if you have had to delay your entry into, or take time out from, the film industry due to any of these exemption categories:

  • Disability (incl. Neurodiversity)

  • Maternity/Childcare responsibilities

  • Chronic Illness

  • Caring Responsibilities

  • Racial Discrimination

  • Low Income/Working Class Background

  • Being a student of any age based within the UK

HOW TO

APPLY?

In order to apply for Watersprite Hubs, you will need to fill in our application form by:

23:59 pm GMT on 15th

December 2023

The form will include:

  1. Personal Statement (max. 450 words or 4 minute video)

  2. Copy of your current CV

  3. Link to any work you would like us to look at when considering your application (for writers, upload 10 pages of original screenplay)*

  4. Eligibility Questionnaire

  5. Equality Monitoring Questionnaire
