Join us in the Cambridge Union for the official opening of the 15th-anniversary edition of Watersprite Film Festival in conversation with Abi Morgan.
Abi Morgan (OBE) is a multi-BAFTA and Emmy-winning writer and producer. From The Iron Lady (Meryl Streep) to The Split (Stephen Mangan), Abi has written some of the best British film and television of the last few decades. Her work also includes the Emmy-winning thriller, The Hour (Ben Whishaw, Dominic West), Suffragette (Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter), and an upcoming project for Netflix, Eric, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
Abi is also a renowned writer for the stage - her plays including Love Song (Frantic Assembly) and Fugee (National Theatre). In 2022 she published her first book, This is Not a Pity Memoir, which quickly became a Sunday Times Bestseller.

Watersprite Film Festival is the world's largest student film festival and is returning to Cambridge from 1-3 March with a full weekend of free events, screenings, and talks by industry professionals, both in-person and online. Our festival is organised by students, for students, and champions young emerging filmmakers across the globe. Join us in Queens' for screenings of our 36 nominated films (chosen from over 1750 submissions from over 90 counties) or check out our packed programme of panels, workshops and Q&As in the Old Divinity School of St John's College. The weekend concludes with a screening of the winning films in the Arts Picturehouse, followed by free coffee, teas and pastries in the University Arms Hotels. Ticket Details:
We will be operating two queues outside the main doors of the Cambridge Union. Please join the queue on the right, as the queue on the left is for VIP guests of the festival. There will be festival volunteers at the end of the queue to guide you. Queuing begins at 19:30 with doors opening at 19:45.
Our venues are entirely wheelchair accessible and if you have any other access requirements, please let us know.
